Chelsea Legend Didier Drogba retires
Chelsea legend and ivorian international Didier Drogba hangs up his boot after a sterling football career the 40 yr old legend was born in 11 March 1978 in Abidjan cote d’lvore at 1.8 metre height the Chelsea all time best player striker posted a picture of him as a child on his social media page before announcing his retirement. Named African footballer of the year twice and winning an accolade back in 2006 and 2009 he is Chelsea current fourth highest goal scorer of ALL time. DID you know Drobga ranks 7th among English football first tier top scorer by 2 titles. After playing in his youth team back in 1988 to 1998 then he made his debut in France ligue 2 club le mans until where he played until he was 21. In July 2004 Drogba moved to Chelsea at a record fee of £ 24 million, making him the most expensive ivorian player in history, in his first Chelsea season he helped the club win the first league title in 50yrs and a year later he won another league title. In March 2012 he became first African player to score 100 premier league goals, he was also named in the FIFA world 11 in 2007.He is most remembered scoring the 88 th minute equalizer goal against Bayern Munich and winning a penalty in the deciding shootout in that 2012 Eufa champions league final.After spending 6 months in Shanghai shenhua in China and half season with Turkish club Galatasaray where he scored the club winning goal in the final of the 2013 Turkish super cup, he returned to Chelsea in 2014.
